The State Law Impacts Project - Part 2

In this post we'll include links to our current state law research.

First, there is a narrative summary of foreclosure procedures for each state (PDF). 

This format is a familiar one for many surveys of this type. We've made an effort to update information so that it's accurate, but if you have comments or suggestions, we'd welcome hearing from you. We'd also like to harvest "best practices" that we can add as additional comments.

Next, we have the state information presented in a spreadsheet (PDF), so that state differences across judicial and non-judicial foreclosure procedures and requirements, borrower post-default and post-foreclosure remedies, duration of remedies process, and mortgage or conveyance taxes can be compared.

The points of comparison have been filtered to capture key differences that we'll examine in more detail in our following post.

We hope this proves to be a useful reference, and we would encourage our readers to make updating it an interactive experience.
