Aldo is the chair of the intellectual property section.  He practices in the area of domestic and international intellectual property rights, including patents, trade secrets, copyrights and trademarks. His practice focuses on software, hardware, digital media, interactive television, e-commerce and business methods. Aldo’s work includes strategic analysis for the development, management and exploitation of intellectual property portfolios, client counseling, IP audits, due diligence opinions, IP valuations, licensing and litigation. His practice also includes supervising the preparation and prosecution of patents, as well as providing opinions and advice regarding patentability, freedom to practice, infringement and validity issues.  Aldo's litigation practice includes intellectual property rights litigation in the "Rocket Docket" Eastern District of Virginia and before the United States International Trade Commission.

• Sean Moore v. Tubular Specialties Manufacturing Inc., et al. (Fed. Cir. Ct. of Appeals). Represented the appellee-defendant, Moen Inc. against patented design infringement on shower curtain rods. (2007)
• Grantley Patent Holdings, Ltd. v. Clear Channel Communications, Inc. (E.D. Tex.). Represented defendant and its subsidiaries in a software patent infringement litigation involving yield management, inventory and billing software. (2006)
• Scriptlogic Corporation v. Entrigue Systems, Inc. (S.D. Tex.). Represented the defendant, Entrigue Systems, Inc. (2006)
• SecureInfo Corporation v. Telos Corporation et al. (E.D. Va.). Represented the trade secret holder in a software case involving trade secret misappropriation and copyright and patent infringement. (2005)
• The SCO Group, Inc. v. International Business Machines Corp. (D. Utah). Defended SCO against software patent infringement claims. IBM withdrew all four patent claims. (2004)
