Larry has extensive first chair jury trial experience and handles a wide range of complex commercial litigation. His areas of practice focus have included litigation involving contract construction and enforcement, commercial torts, creditors' rights and remedies, fraudulent conveyances, director and officer litigation, shareholder derivative litigation, business disputes between manufacturers and their sales representatives/distributors, disputes with regulatory agencies, trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation, and bankruptcy-related litigation. He has represented a diverse spectrum of clients, including banks and bank holding companies, publicly traded corporations, manufacturers of sophisticated medical devices, and individual litigants.

For example, he served as lead counsel for the Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee of what had been a major bank holding company in litigation with the FDIC. The case was settled shortly before trial, and Larry's client received a net settlement of $130 million.

Larry was also lead trial counsel in an auditor malpractice claim that his client brought against Ernst & Young. After two weeks of jury trial, Ernst & Young settled with Larry's client, who received a net settlement of $70 million.

He was also lead litigation counsel for a Chapter 11 debtor that confirmed a liquidating plan, pursuant to which he was responsible for all litigation-related collection activities, including investigating potential claims and filing and prosecuting over 100 separate adversary proceedings to pursue the debtor’s claims against third parties. In large part due to these collection efforts, the debtor was able to raise over $100 million for payment to creditors.

Larry also has expertise defending criminal investigations and prosecutions. Prior to joining Andrews Kurth, Larry served as a criminal prosecutor, both as Assistant District Attorney and Special Assistant United States Attorney.
