Robert is an experienced trial lawyer with extensive jury trial experience over the past 22 years focusing on product liability, personal injury, and commercial litigation. He has handled a wide variety of litigation for manufacturing and industrial companies including fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft, all types of construction equipment, manufacturing and industrial equipment. Robert’s trial practice also includes commercial litigation involving breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary obligations and trademark infringement. Finally, Robert's experience also includes all aspects of on-site crisis management and legal defense related to catastrophic chemical and industrial plant accidents.

Representative Experience

  • On-site lead counsel for catastrophic industrial plant accidents coordinating all aspects of on-site investigation and reporting, expert engineering retention and testing, evidence mapping and collection, human relations and family crisis, OSHA investigation and response, and the defense of litigation resulting from the accidents.
  • Lead defense counsel in numerous jury trials of product liability lawsuits including aircraft, helicopters and construction equipment.
  • Lead counsel in multiple jury trials of commercial disputes including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary obligations and fraud.
  • Lead defense counsel in jury trial of a wrongful termination lawsuit involving employee injury and company’s ERISA benefits plan.
  • Defended client in a case involving claims of fraud, negligent misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty and DTPA violations arising out of the sale of a business venture involving FHA Title 1 loans, housing finance and warehouse lines of credit.
  • Defended client in trademark infringement and employee raiding case involving company’s purchase and expansion of established business.
  • Special assignment counsel to company management in matters relating to contractual defense and indemnity, contract construction and compliance, arbitration issues and other related matters.
  • Defended clients in various mass torts litigation including Superfund, tobacco, asbestos, silica and industrial plant emissions.
