Alan Bickerstaff is a Corporate and Securities partner who focuses on representing entrepreneurs and public and private emerging growth companies on formation, operations and corporate governance matters; securities law reporting and compliance matters; private equity and venture capital financings; public offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
Alan represents companies in a wide variety of industries, including the software, internet, energy, semiconductor, renewable energy, clean technology, life sciences, and telecommunications industries.
Alan has also represented numerous institutional investors in venture capital financings and private equity transactions as well as underwriters in various public securities offerings.
Alan joined the firm from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

- Representation of companies, venture capitalists and private equity sponsors in raising over $600 million in capital in more than 150 venture capital and private equity financings
- Representation of companies and underwriters in raising over $2 billion in capital through initial public offerings, public equity and debt offerings and Rule 144A transactions
- Representation of acquirers and targets in over $2 billion of public and private company merger and acquisition transactions
- Representation of wireless telecommunications company in its acquisition of a competitor and simultaneous $40 million financing
- Representation of a wireless telecommunications switch provider, in its acquisition by Alcatel for approximately $300 million
- Representation of a public biotechnology company in its $30 million registered direct offering of common stock
- Representation of investors in a $30 million financing of a start-up company that purchased wireless spectrum in an FCC auction
- Representation of acquirer in its $30 million acquisition of a biodiesel manufacturing facility
- Representation of a telecommunications applications software company in its $21 million Series B Financing and its $20 million Series C Financing
- Representation of a fabless semiconductor company, in its $22 million Series A Financing and in its $25 million Series B Financing
- Representation of investors in a $22 million Series E Financing of a wireless telecommunications company
- Representation of oilfield services company in its $100 million acquisition of a logistics company
- Representation of drilling tools and services company in its $30 million acquisition of a drilling services company
- Representation of oilfield services company in its $215 million acquisition of an offshore drilling platform services company
