Alex's practice focuses on civil and white-collar criminal defense litigation. His civil litigation experience includes complex commercial, products liability and mass tort cases. He has both bench and jury trial experience.
In his commercial litigation practice, Alex represents corporate and individual clients as either plaintiffs or defendants. He has tried cases involving breach of contract, fraud, fraudulent transfer of assets, breach of fiduciary duty, piercing the corporate veil, alter ego, trade-secret misappropriation, business theft, and covenants not to compete.
Alex also is national counsel and trial counsel for clients including product manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, oil refineries and chemical plants in mass tort cases. In his criminal practice, his representations have involved white-collar criminal cases and investigations by both federal and state authorities.

- Represented individual, who was head of global commodities for international investment banking firm, regarding New York Attorney General's Office and related SEC investigations into 2008 year-end Wall Street bonuses by TARP banking recipients
- Lead trial counsel for company in federal court litigation involving fraud claims related to international sales transactions
- Lead trial counsel in plaintiff representation for energy company in suit involving claims for breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation, breach of fiduciary duty, business theft and injunctive relief
- Represented individual in federal investigation of natural gas traders with respect to alleged attempt to influence natural gas prices
- Lead trial counsel in plaintiff representation of high-tech company in suit involving claims for breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and alter ego and piercing the corporate veil; case tried to verdict and awarded actual and treble damages
- Co-trial counsel for energy company in wrongful death case involving alleged exposure to toxic substance; case tried to verdict over several weeks and obtained jury finding of no liability
- Lead trial counsel for trucking company in suit alleging tort and property damage; case tried to verdict and obtained jury finding of no liability
- National counsel for manufacturing company with respect to their product liability claims
