Brett Cooke's practice covers all intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Brett's practice includes an emphasis on patent drafting, prosecution, reexamination, and infringement litigation. He has broad experience including repair, maintenance and operation of nuclear power plants, radiological controls, thermography, non-destructive testing methods, wire, cable and electrical harness design, naval engineering and offshore/subsea/downhole systems design.
Representative Experience
- Litigation experience in both enforcing patent rights and defending against claims of patent infringement
- Drafted patents and patent applications for clients in diverse markets, including telemedicine, medical devices, oil field exploration and development tools, construction, financial systems and methods, alternative energy, computer and communications technologies, and consumer goods
- Broad experience in inter partes and ex parte reexamination of patents and patent appeals before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences
