Charles’ practice covers all aspects of civil litigation. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, primarily in the areas of energy, environmental, bankruptcy and intellectual property. His energy experience includes complaint proceedings involving interstate natural gas pipeline companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, as well as litigation arising from the bankruptcy of a wholesale power marketing company. Charles’ environmental litigation experience includes megasite litigation concerning contaminated sediments, private contribution actions, actions by the regulators, natural resource damage issues and brownfield redevelopment efforts. His bankruptcy experience includes representing clients in adversary proceedings and addressing environmental claims in bankruptcy. Charles also has experience in patent and trade secret litigation.
