Charlie focuses his national practice on real estate finance. His experience includes floating and fixed rate portfolio and CMBS financing; A/B and pari-passu loan structures; construction loans; acquisition, financing, and sale of performing and non-performing loans and assets; and problem loan workouts. Charlie is a member of the Andrews Kurth Distressed Asset Practice Group and Economic Recovery/Government Opportunities Task Force.
Charlie is also co-author of The Line, the firm's blog focused on economic recovery, real estate finance and the capital markets.
Charlie has previously served on the firm-wide Management Committee and as the Managing Partner of the Dallas office.
Representative Experience
- Represented lenders in financing of urban office towers, including the Lipstick Building (New York), 123 N. Wacker Drive Building (Chicago) and One Main Place (Dallas)
- Represented lender in financing of regional malls in Tennessee, Florida and Maine owned by retail REIT
- Represented lender in financing of multistate hotel portfolios owned by hotel REITs
- Represented lender in construction loan, second lien financing and loan workout for New York high-rise hotel
