Christopher's practice focuses on a broad spectrum of banking/finance and commercial real estate matters on a national basis. He offers comprehensive counsel on the acquisition, development, leasing (including build-to-suit and sale-leaseback transactions), management and disposition of both undeveloped and income producing properties, including office, healthcare, industrial, retail, mixed-use, business parks and multifamily projects on behalf of institutional and non-institutional investors, real estate funds and REITs. Christopher's banking and finance experience includes the representation of both lending institutions and borrowers in commercial financing transactions, including syndicated and structured finance, mezzanine, preferred equity, real estate acquisition, construction and permanent loan facilities, as well as the workout and restructuring of such transactions, foreclosures and other enforcement actions. He is also experienced in entity formation, operation, reorganization and dissolution of domestic limited liability companies, limited partnerships, corporations and joint ventures.

Representative Experience

  • Representation of a global alternative asset manager in connection with a mezzanine loan made for purposes of financing the acquisition and construction of a 340 unit, Class “A” mixed use project in Houston, Texas
  • Representation of institutional investor in connection with a preferred equity investment in a joint venture formed for purposes of acquiring a 338 unit, Class “A” multifamily project in Houston, Texas
  • Representation of a NYSE traded, independent oil and natural gas company, in connection with the acquisition of two office buildings in Midland, Texas, and the redevelopment of same for its corporate headquarters
  • Representation of national lender in connection with financing the acquisition of a 373,000 square foot office building located in the Central Business District of Houston, Texas
  • Representation of various lenders in connection with loan origination, workouts and enforcement actions pertaining to their respective preferred equity, mezzanine and mortgage loan portfolios
  • Representation of various institutional owners in connection with all aspects of owning, leasing and operating, in the aggregate, more than 3,000,000 square feet of office, retail and industrial space in Texas, Georgia, Rhode Island and Illinois
  • Representation of developer in connection with the acquisition and development of a 350-acre logistics and industrial park located immediately adjacent to Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas
  • Representation of landlord and developer, in a build-to-suit lease transaction in connection with a 914,195 square foot corporate office, manufacturing and warehouse facility
  • Representation of numerous tenants in connection with commercial leases for office, healthcare, industrial and retail space, including office leases for the respective corporate headquarters of a number of publicly traded companies
