Larry's employment law litigation practice includes a number of jury and non-jury trials in both state and federal courts and several arbitration proceedings. It has involved class action cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Immigration and Naturalization Act and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. His special areas of experience include enforcement of covenants not to compete and confidentiality agreements, recoveries from employees arising out of theft, and defense of discrimination and retaliation claims asserted against employers. Larry counsels clients on matters such as those arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Texas Pay Day Act, Chapter 21, f/k/a the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the National Labor Relations Act. He is currently updating confidentiality and covenant not to compete agreements, drug-testing policies, and sexual and other unlawful harassment supervisor training programs for several clients with nationwide operations.
Larry's general civil litigation experience includes oil and gas, banking, construction, eminent domain, usury, antitrust, products liability and insurance coverage cases. His administrative law practice includes appearances before the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Railroad Commission of Texas, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Workforce Commission. Larry also assesses loss contingencies for clients involved in acquisitions, mergers, investments and lending transactions.
