Monica's practice includes representation of debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, and creditors' committees in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. In addition, Monica represents lenders in out-of-court restructurings. Recently, Monica has worked on the Chapter 11 cases of Broadstar Wind Systems, Opus East, NextMedia Group, Inc., Pilgrim's Pride Corporation, M.B.S. Management Inc., DBSI, Inc., Ritz Camera, Home Interiors, The Bombay Company, Kitty Hawk Airlines and Mirant Corporation.
In recent years, Monica's practice has focused on representing debtors and secured lenders. Her primary focus for lenders has been in real estate related bankruptcies in connection with originated and securitized loans. Many of these cases involved representation of servicers and special servicers on behalf of trustees in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions. Monica has also represented lenders and servicers in loan assumptions and loan modifications both in and out of court.
Monica practices before courts in Texas, New York, Delaware, North Carolina, Louisiana, Illinois and other states.

- Represented secured lenders in assumptions and modifications of securitized loans
