Robert has more than 25 years of experience in civil jury and non-jury trials and appeals in state and federal courts. He represents publicly and privately held businesses including a company that provides nationwide management services to eye care practices, a leading veterinary supply company, a provider of cardiovascular health care, bankruptcy trustees, court-appointed receivers, financial and professional services companies including accounting firms, software developers, computer hardware manufacturers, wireless communications companies, oil and gas exploration companies and railroads in business and tort litigation.

Robert’s commercial and tort litigation experience includes trials and appeals of cases in Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, and other jurisdictions involving railroad crossing accidents, bad faith insurance claims, employment disputes, business divorces, fiduciary duty disputes, fraud, real estate disputes, professional malpractice, violations of state and federal securities laws, state and federal class actions, contract disputes, products liability cases, trade secrets disputes, landlord/tenant disputes and deceptive trade practices litigation. He was recently involved in the trial and appeal of extensive litigation concerning an oil and gas farmout agreement and related take-or-pay issues.

Robert has also prosecuted and responded to appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth and Sixth Circuits, the Supreme Court of Texas, the Supreme Court of the State of Louisiana, Texas Courts of Appeals and a Louisiana Court of Appeal. He has presented oral arguments in appeals to Texas Courts of Appeals and to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit.

In addition to his litigation practice, Robert served as the Hiring Partner for the Dallas office between 1997 and 2001.
