William has a practice that focuses on commercial real estate, finance and energy transactions. He has extensive experience in a wide range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, development, finance, tax incentive agreements, construction, and leasing. William also has substantial experience in analyzing title and land use issues in connection with condemnation projects.
In his finance practice, William has represented both borrowers and institutional lenders. He has negotiated numerous loans, including construction loans, mezzanine loans, conduit loans, syndicated loans, public finance, Export-Import Bank, SBA and venture loans, as well as workouts.
William’s energy practice involves representing electric cooperatives in wholesale power supply transactions and power generation infrastructure development.
Representative Experience
- Represented a consortium of electric cooperatives in assembling plant site and utility easement corridor for development of a $2 billion power generation plant
- Represented national retail furniture company in site acquisition and development of 985,000 square foot distribution warehouse and showroom facility named Best Industrial Project of 2010 by Houston Business Journal
- Represented solid waste disposal company in negotiating a $100,000,000 credit facility secured by liens on numerous landfills and similar properties located across the country
- Represented the owner of long term acute health care facilities in the restructuring of its senior and subordinated credit facilities in connection with a merger
- Represented a municipality in the acquisition of a plant site and related easements for development of a 300 million gallon per day water treatment plant
- Served as lender’s counsel in negotiating securitized loans totaling in excess of $250,000,000
- Represented a purchaser in the acquisition of two apartment complexes and the assumption of the seller’s HUD-backed loan
- Represented a real estate developer in the acquisition, financing, development, and leasing of an 80-acre mixed use tract, including a medical campus and retail and assisted living facilities
- Represented a lender in the origination and several subsequent restructurings of a $35,000,000 line of credit secured by the rolling fleet and other assets of a taxi cab company
- Represented a retail motorcycle dealership in the acquisition of several operating dealerships
- Represented private developer in the acquisition of an 8,000-acre property for residential development
