Andrews Kurth Adds to its 2005 Chambers USA Ranking
June 16, 2005HOUSTON – In the 2005 Chambers & Partners, USA rankings, Andrews Kurth is recognized in nine practice areas compared to eight in 2004. Antitrust joins the list of ranked practice areas, and the firm has 17 lawyers recognized, compared to 14 in 2004.
The Chambers & Partners, USA guide is designed to reflect market opinion. According to Chambers, entry in its guide is based solely on market research and over 10,000 interviews conducted with in-house counsel across the country. Chambers researchers spend a year gathering information in order to present a consistent market view of which firms and attorneys are leaders in their fields.
Law firms and individual attorneys are ranked on a scale of one to six. The qualities on which rankings are assessed include several characteristics: technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness, commitment, and other qualities most valued by those interviewed.

Among the 17 lawyers, Tim Unger was nationally recognized by Chambers for his Projects work, and three partners received a number-one ranking in their fields: Bob Jewell and Mike O’Leary for Corporate / M&A and John Lee in Bankruptcy. Jason Brookner was named “Up and Coming” for his experience in the Bankruptcy market.
