Andrews Kurth Announces 2006 Partners

HOUSTON -- Andrews Kurth recently announced that five attorneys will become Partners beginning January 1, 2006. “The addition of these new Partners will strengthen our Firm, and we are pleased to welcome them to the Partnership,” said Howard Ayers, Managing Partner of Andrews Kurth.

New Partners include Robert McNamara, Jason Peters, Michael Shaw and Laura Trenaman in the Houston office, and John Quattrocchi in the Dallas office.

Robert McNamara
Robert’s practice focuses on the representation of domestic taxation of business transactions and business entities, including publicly traded partnerships, investment banking firms, and other clients in the energy industry. Robert received his JD, cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center in 1997. In 1989, Robert received a BBA in accounting and a MPA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jason Peters
Jason’s practice focuses on finance, real estate, and energy matters, including the representation of lending institutions, private investment funds, and borrowers in commercial financing transactions, the representation of developers of office buildings and shopping centers and the representation of lenders and borrowers for real estate acquisition, construction, and term loans. He also has a great deal of experience in negotiating hedging agreements. In 1996, Jason received his JD, cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center; he received his BA in 1993 from Vanderbilt University.

John Quattrocchi
Resident in the firm’s Dallas office, John represents private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies as well as buyers and sellers involved in merger and acquisition activity. John has extensive experience representing clients in the media and telecommunications industry. In 1995, John received his JD from Vanderbilt University School of Law; in 1992, he earned his BS from Centre College in Kentucky.

Michael Shaw
Michael’s practice focuses on finance and real estate matters including the representation of lending institutions and borrowers in commercial financing transactions including syndicated and structured finance transactions. He also represents buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and developers in various types of real estate transactions. In 1997, Michael received his JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center. In 1992, he received his BBA in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.

Laura Trenaman
Laura’s practice covers all phases of defense of health care liability claims, including discovery and pretrial matters, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial. She is a lecturer for health care clients and has defended various types of personal injury and insurance matters, including toxic torts and products liability. Laura received her JD in 1997 from the University of Houston, magna cum laude; in 1993, she received her LLB from the University of British Columbia. In 1986, Laura earned her BS in nursing, cum laude, from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
