Andrews Kurth Selects Five New Partners for 2008

HOUSTON – Andrews Kurth announced today the election of five of its lawyers to the partnership. Jong S. Kim, Timothy C. Langenkamp, Michael D. Morfey, Scott L. Olson and Donna D. Kim will assume their new positions on January 1, 2008.

“The addition of these new Partners will greatly strengthen our firm,” said Managing Partner Bob Jewell. “We are pleased to welcome them to the partnership.”

 

Jong S. Kim (Dallas) Jong focuses on a broad range of real estate, finance and general business transactions. Her practice includes the representation of commercial mortgage loan originators with an emphasis on structuring, negotiating and documenting complex real estate transactions involving both securitized and non-securitized loans. Her experience also includes the representation of loan servicers in connection with loan assumptions, modifications and workouts, as well as the representation of property owners with respect to commercial leases, management agreements and purchase and sale agreements. She is also a certified mediator.

Timothy C. Langenkamp (Houston) Tim practices in the corporate and securities area. He represents issuers and underwriters in public offerings and private placements of debt and equity and counsels clients on securities law compliance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other general corporate and securities matters. Tim's clients include publicly traded and privately owned partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations, including master limited partnerships. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to clients in the energy, refining and online technology industries.

Michael D. Morfey (Houston) Michael represents clients in state and federal court in a wide range of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, landlord/tenant, real estate, mechanic and materialman’s liens, and claims involving the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. His experience also includes the prosecution of claims against debtors and creditors in bankruptcy adversary proceedings.

Scott L. Olson  (Houston) Scott practices in all areas of corporate and securities law, including public and private offerings of equity and debt securities and mergers and acquisitions of solvent and bankrupt entities. Scott also counsels public companies regarding compliance with periodic reporting requirements, proxy solicitations, corporate governance matters and other requirements of the federal securities laws. Scott’s other transactional work includes representing borrowers and lenders in lending transactions and other corporate finance matters.

Donna D. Kim  (New York) Donna has experience representing issuers in public offerings and private placements, including 144A offerings of debt securities. Donna has also been involved in the negotiation of mergers and acquisitions and in organizing and generally advising corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships on corporate law, including reporting obligations under federal securities laws.
