The Inter-American Investment Corporation ("IIC") closed on an eight-year US$ 18,000,000 secured A/B loan
(Washington, DC)—The Inter-American Investment Corporation ("IIC") closed on an eight-year US$ 18,000,000 secured A/B loan to Distributeurs Nationaux, S.A., a Haitian company ("Dinasa") on September 23, 2009.
The loan proceeds were disbursed on October 8, 2009 to finance Dinasa's stock purchase of Chevron Haiti, Inc. and all of its downstream fuel distribution assets in Haiti.
Additional debt funding for the acquisition was provided by the Unibank Group and Banque Nationale de Crédit for a total combined facility of $48 million. The U.S. based law firm of Andrews Kurth LLP, the Haitian law firm of Cabinet Hudicourt Woolley and Walkers in the British Virgin Islands advised the IIC on the financing.
