Andrews Kurth Represents IDB in First Biofuels Financing in Brazil
SAO PAULO, BRAZIL – Andrews Kurth represented the Inter-American Development Bank in its corporate secured A loan to Usina Moema Açúcar e Álcool Ltda. (Moema), the proceeds of which will be used for the purpose of restructuring Moema’s debt and funding expansion of its ethanol production operations.
The lead lenders included IDB, Rabobank and Banco Itau Europa for a total co-financing of $120 million, with each bank lending $40 million.
The Andrews Kurth team of lawyers included Vera Rechsteiner, Doris Rodriguez, Dahl Thompson, Judy Reyes, Nara Porto, Linda Dole and Andy Tucker. The deal closed August 15, 2007.
