Andrews Kurth Represents IDB in $15 Million Subordinated Loan to Banco de Guayaquil, S.A.
(Washington, DC)—On December 22, 2011, the Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB”) closed on a financing facility to Banco de Guayaquil, S.A., an Ecuadorian bank, consisting of a US$15 million subordinated loan qualifying as Tier II capital under the requirements of the Ecuadorian Bank Superintendency. The proceeds of the subordinated loan are to be used to support the expansion of the Borrower’s funding activities for small and medium-sized enterprises and the growth of its “Banco del Barrio” program, in the Republic of Ecuador.
