Andrews Kurth Represents IDB in $16 Million Loan to Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Paraguay S.A

(Washington, DC)— On July 27, 2012, the Inter-American Development Bank (“IDB”) closed on a US$16 million senior loan facility to the Paraguayan bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Paraguay S.A.

The proceeds of the loan are intended to finance the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and to fund the origination by the Borrower of loans to small and medium-sized enterprises in the Republic of Paraguay.

The U.S. based firm of Andrews Kurth LLP and the Paraguayan firm of Ferrere advised the IDB on the financing.
