(New York, New York)—Andrews Kurth Kenyon LLP is pleased to announce that Intellectual Property and Technology Partners Michael J. Lennon and James E. Rosini have been named as 2018 Leading Lawyers by World Intellectual Property Review.

WIPR Leaders is a one-stop guide to the leading IP practitioners in the world. The handbook lists over 1,700 lawyers across two volumes: over 900 individuals in the both the patent and the trademarks section (some individuals are in both). Stemming from a four month nomination period in which we sought views from 12,000 IP professionals, our research team vetted every nominated lawyer for suitability by exploring their work. This meant looking at practice history, industry expertise and notable cases, as well as any additional activities, such as writing and teaching responsibilities, which have allowed the lawyers to shape and influence other and future IP practitioners.

Michael Lennon’s practice focuses on complex litigation, licensing and business transactions relating to intellectual property rights. Over his more than three decades of practicing law, Michael has represented and acted as an advisor to numerous multinational technology companies in industries ranging from medical devices to wind power systems. In transactional matters, Michael acts as both legal counsel and as a strategic advisor to his clients, and he has negotiated numerous agreements relating to the acquisition, licensing and monetization of intellectual property. He has appeared as trial counsel in more than 100 patent infringement, trade secret, licensing and patent-antitrust lawsuits in the United States federal district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Michael earned his J.D. in 1974, from Fordham University School of Law. He received his B.S. from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1969.

With more than 30 years’ experience handling litigation and counseling matters concerning all aspects of intellectual property, James Rosini focuses his practice on patent, trademark, copyright and unfair competition law. He also handles related advertising, entertainment, publishing, music, computer, internet, domain name and right of publicity issues. He has specific experience advising leading companies whose present circumstances require rebranding on an emergency basis. James earned his J.D. in 1978, with honors, from the University of Miami School of Law. He received his B.A., with honors, from the University of Notre Dame in 1975.
