New Partners Selected at Andrews Kurth for 2005

HOUSTON -- Andrews Kurth announces today that four associates have earned partner recognition as the firm prepares for 2005. “The addition of these partners will strengthen Andrews Kurth,” said Howard Ayers, Managing Partner of Andrews Kurth. “We are pleased to welcome them to the Partnership.”

New partners include Kin Gill from the Austin office, Tammy Brennig and Sharon Ward from the Houston office, and Charles Crout from the Washington, D.C. office.

Kin Gill practices in the corporate / securities section representing both public and private companies in the technology and energy industries on a full range of matters including public offerings and private placements of securities; venture capital investments; mergers, acquisitions and dispositions; entity formation and governance; and general securities law compliance. In 1995, he received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. He also has an M.B.A. and a B.Accy from the University of Mississippi.

Tammy Brennig’s practice includes a range of financing, commercial real estate, international and domestic project development, and project finance and telecommunications transactions. She represents financial institutions, sponsors, equity investors, and project companies in a variety of financing matters, including syndicated and structured finance transactions and the development and financing of power plants, cogeneration facilities, gas gathering systems, chemical plants, and other infrastructure projects. Brennig received her J.D., cum laude, from South Texas College of Law in 1992, and her B.B.A., magna cum laude, from Lamar University in 1990.

Sharon Ward’s practice focuses on establishing asset-based credit facilities, structured finance transactions, and providing debt and capital restructuring advice to lenders and troubled companies. She also advises clients in connection with real estate development and financing, including lodging industry transactions. Before becoming an attorney, she practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for a national accounting firm. In 1994, Ward received her J.D., honors, from the University of Texas and in 1983, she earned her B.S., highest honors, from the University of Arkansas.

Located in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, Charles Crout’s practice covers all aspects of civil litigation. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, environmental, and intellectual property. Crout’s bankruptcy experience includes representing clients in adversary proceedings. His environmental litigation experience includes private contribution actions, actions by the regulators, and brownfield redevelopment efforts. Crout also has experience in patent and trade secret litigation. In 1995, he received his J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University. Crout earned his M.P.Aff. in 1992 from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. In 1989, Crout graduated with a B.A., cum laude, in English and Philosophy from Vanderbilt University.
