Chris focuses his practice on complex commercial and patent litigation and technology licensing in a variety of technical fields, including the semiconductor, specialty chemical and pharmaceutical areas. He has litigated in both federal and state court in a variety of venues, and has first chair experience in inter partes review trials before the Patent and Trial Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Chris has also represented a manufacturer in an International Trade Commission (ITC) matter as part of a team.  

Chris devotes a portion of his time to pro bono matters. Prior to joining Andrews Kurth Kenyon, Chris first-chaired an appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, winning a new trial for the pro bono client on Sixth Amendment grounds.

  • Represent Climate Action Associates LLC in contract negotiations with NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority).

  • Noven Pharmaceuticals v. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., Case No. 16-1678 (Fed. Cir. 2016). Represent appellee in the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
  • Noven Pharmaceuticals v. Mylan Inc., Case No. 15-cv-979 (D. Del. 2015) and Case No. 15-cv-194 (N.D.W. Va. 2015). Represent plaintiff in Hatch-Waxman litigation in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.
  • Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. v. Noven Pharmaceuticals, Case No. 14-cv-1111 (D. Del. 2014). Represented defendant in Hatch-Waxman litigation in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
  • Noven Pharmaceuticals v. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., IPR Nos. IPR2014-59, -550 (P.T.A.B. 2014). Represented petitioner in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Bradium Technologies Inc. v. Microsoft Corp., Case No. 15-cv-31 (D. Del. 2015). Represent plaintiff in patent litigation in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
  • Bradium Technologies Inc. v. Microsoft Corp., IPR Nos. IPR2015-1432, -1434, -1435, IPR2016-448, -449 (P.T.A.B. 2015, 2016). Represented patent owner in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTAB).
  • In re Bradium Technologies Inc. 17-2579, -2580 (Fed. Cir. 2017). Representing patent owner in appeal from the PTAB.
  • Janssen Products, L.P. v. Lupin Ltd., Case No. 10-cv-5954 (D.N.J. 2014). Represented third party Cipla Inc. in response to subpoenas served in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
  • In the Matter of Certain Omega-3 Extracts (Inv. No. 337-TA-877). Represented respondent Enzymotec, Ltd. before the International Trade Commission.
